With no initial point of reference other than its natural veins and sedimentary layers, the alabaster was hand-carved and improvised as it was developed. The exterior has mostly been left in the original, rough state of the stone, honouring the natural material. Two figures began emerging, one that is worn, rough, with almost a thick protective shell — and another that is softly embraced towards the interior.
